Alexandra “Alex” Michel, PhD, CNM, FACNM, is a dedicated healthcare professional with extensive experience in nursing, midwifery, and academic leadership and always provides compassionate care.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Alex brings a wealth of expertise to patient care, education, and research. Her clinical experience spans over a decade, including roles in a multitude of settings from a County Health Department Family Planning clinic to private practice, and military treatment facilities providing pregnancy and postpartum care, as well as routine gyn care such as screenings for cervical cancer and breast cancer, family planning education, and also problem visits. What she loves most is empowering patients by teaching them about their body and their options.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Michel is a published researcher, contributing to studies on cervical cancer screening, HPV vaccine attitudes, and maternity care for underserved populations. Passionate about advancing women’s health, she is committed to improving healthcare delivery through research, education, and quality improvement initiatives.
Alex is a proud veteran, married to an active duty soldier who is about to retire after 30+ years in the military, and the parent to two adult children. She also has an elderly cat and a one year old puppy. When not working she loves to complete crossword puzzles or swim, bike, and/or run all over the country.
